How fresh is fresh?
Fresh milk will be packaged and dispatched less than 24 hours after being milked from the goat.
Our frozen pouches are mostly processed to order meaning they are still super fresh when sent out for delivery. During busy times we may pre-freeze milk up to 1 week in advance. We commit to ensuring that it does not stay in our freezer for any longer than that, so you can be assured your milk hasn't already been frozen for months prior to purchase.
How much milk should I purchase at once?
Customers who prefer fresh raw milk should purchase at least the minimum amount required per week.
Customers purchasing frozen packs have the ability to purchase extra packs which can then be placed in the freezer for use as needed (for up to 3 months).
Please remember that frozen packs will still be frozen upon arrival so make sure you have enough thawed milk from your previous order to last until the day after your delivery has arrived. Alternatively, you can opt for 1 fresh pack as part of your value pack so that you have milk ready to use as soon as your order arrives (a really good option for new customers).
To calculate how much milk you require in a week, please see our Recommended Feeding Guide.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Yes, absolutely. Simply rinse the foil pouches after use and recycle them with your other soft plastics recycling.
Most orders will also include gel based ice packs.
These can be reused many times by popping them back in your freezer on receipt of your delivery.
Once they have reached their usable life, dispose of them using of the below methods:
1 - Cut open the outer layer and spread the gel around your potted plants to retain moisture in the soil
2 - Cut the outer layer and tip the contents into your sink. Add 1 tsp salt to help breakdown the gel then flush down the drain with plenty of cold water.
3 - Cut open the outer layer and dispose of the gel into your rubbish bin
After you after removed the gel, rinse the outer layer and recycle with your soft plastics.
The gel inside the icepacks is non-toxic so if a pack breaks open or you get some on your skin during the disposal process,
simply wash and dry your hands well.
We aim to deliver nationwide via NZ Courier Post's overnight service.
Rural Delivery Options
As rural dwellers ourselves, we are very aware of the costs associated with getting products delivered to your door. We are committed to ensuring you can access our products however we are still experiencing some limitations with costs and time-frames associated with chilled products to some areas. One of the best solutions we can suggest is to arrange for your items to be delivered to an address in your closest service town. Farm supply stores, veterinary clinics and service stations are generally very open to acting as your courier drop-off location. You will still need to arrange to collect the package on the scheduled delivery day. It is also a good idea to let the company know you are expecting a parcel and ask if they could message you when it arrives. In some cases they may even be able to refrigerate the parcel until you are able to collect it. If you are unable to arrange an urban drop-off point, please contact us so we can work together to find a solution that will work best.
If you are located rurally in the South Island we recommend discussing with us the
best volume and shipping method to meet your needs by emailing us or sending us a note via Messenger.
